The 2nd race of the 6 race series was held at the Revolution Raceway in Cap-Pele June 11th. Track was in near perfect conditions after several days of rain. The results have been added to the 2016 Cap-Pele Offroad Series points. Race summary:
2wd buggy: A new racer, Jonathan Goulette, joined the series. Jeremy was able to get a clean start and pull away from the pack. Mid race Gregg was able to catch up and make the pass. Stephane and Mike battled on the same lap. Jonathan ended up stripping the servo out of his B4.2
2wd SCT: A couple new fellows out to join the series came out. Gilbert Leclair and Patrick Last. Jeremy had the worst start possible, rolling his truck and allowing the crowd to pass. He battled back for lead and took it early in the race. Gilbert settled in the 2nd place. the battle was between Patrick and Eric. A look at the results showed the lap counter double counted Patricks first lap and Eric was rightfully 3rd
4wd SCT: In the B-Main a new racer Danen Gallant struggled with his truck early in the day and looked to be having his best race of the day. Again an equipment failure while he was leading kept him out of first. George and Gilbert took the 2 bump ups, but Gilbert left early giving the bump to Mike. In the A-Main Shane took the lead from the start and never looked back. The race then turned to Stephane and Gregg who battled back and forth. On the last lap at the last jump the two racers were going for it when Stephane had a bad landing and rolled giving Gregg the 2nd place finish.
1/8 E-Buggy: Shane grabbed the lead at the tone and set a blistering pace for the others to follow. Mike had a shock come loose which kept him out of contention. The race was between Chris and George for 2nd place. They exchanged the spot a few times but Chris pulled away and finished a half lap over George who ran well.
1/8 Truggy: At the start Shane got caught up at the start allowing a couple to go by, but by the end of the 1st or 2nd lap was out front setting the pace. Stephane and Patrick were battling it out for the 2nd spot when Stephane lost a single screw which took him out of the race. Patrick and Mike then cruised to the podium.
1/8 Nitro buggy: In the 15 minute final there was some exciting racing. Adam was running strong but had his motor cut out and had a few slow laps which held him back. Shane was out in the lead but then his motor cut out about mid race. Dave had a solid run keeping his motor running and took the lead. Shane then fought back the rest of the race reeling in Dave a few feet each lap and it started to look like Dave was going to hold on for the win. Dave then had a crash with a couple laps left and Shane took the lead.
