Maritime R/C Racing uses a lap timing system from KO PROPO. It uses powered transponders.
Power has to be supplied to the transponders via a cable. This cable has to be Male-Male and supplied by the racers. Typically we have cables for sale at the track. These cables can be purchased through your local hobby shop or ordered online. They can also be made. Here is are a few links with more information.

For the cable, you will need an open port on your receiver. If you do not have open open port you will have to use a “Y” cable. For example, plug in the "Y" cable then plug in your steering servo and then the transponder.
For those that cannot or choose not to plug into your receiver you will be able to power the transponder using a 3volt battery with a male connector.
