Race #1 of the 2 race series was held on September 17 2016 at RC Race Track Des iles of Lameque, NB. Racers from as far as Saint John & Moncton made the trip to compete against the racers of our 2 regional clubs. Results for this race are also posted on the BlackFly RC site.

2wd Buggy B-Main
2wd buggy had a lot of entries which were broken into an A-Main and B-Main. In the B-main Pierre Hache started on pole position and won the final, followed by Danen Gallant and Jonathan C. Duguay. Eric Fournier and Jacques Sonier were absent for the final.

2wd Buggy A-Main
The start of the 2wd Buggy race was a disaster for the top qualifiers. Serge Beaudin got in some early race crashes and Gregg had mechanical troubles. Serge Hache raced a clean race to finish 1st, Pierre Hache found the fast way around and went from 6th to 2nd, and Stephane improved to finish 3rd. Mark in his 2nd offroad race of the year held his ground at 5th.

In 2wd SCT it was a battle to the finish. Guillaume took the early lead and looked to be running away with it, with Serge following in 2nd. Mark McKinnon, running a 2wd from 1994, was slowly reeling in the leaders through the race. Mark made the pass on the last corner of the last lap to take the win!

There was a lot of excitement in the 4wd SCT A-Main. Stephane and Gregg had a good battle for 1st place, with Gregg making a comeback and making a last lap pass. The story was Brandon Beaudin who worked his way from 6th place to finish 3rd.

In 1/8 Buggy it was an exciting final. Serge took off at the start and seemed to have things well in hand. But little did he know Brandon was waiting for the right time to make the pass. With 2 laps to go Brandon took the lead for 1st with Serge 2nd. Early in the race Pierre Hache fell down a few positions but worked his way back to 3rd.

1/8 Truggy A-Main
In the truggy final there were a lot of position changes through the race. Serge Beaudin lead the race and finished easily 1 lap over the field. Stephane had early trouble, fell back to 5th and worked his way to 2nd. After a battle with Guillaume for 2nd, Stephane had equipment failure and fell off the podium. Serge Hache was waiting for the opportunity and took the 3rd spot.
